My third night at imaging, I've used a lot of advice from these forums, thanks a lot all of you! Most pics use 10 darks, no flats and about 10 lights at iso800, 30 sec. Unmodded 20D, 150mm newton on CG5 goto mount.

Still a lot learn though and I'm looking forward your reply's!

Really nice images, especially with only 10x30s exposures!

I recently started using flats and they really ease the post-processing, so I guess that's the next step for you (as well as more and longer exposures) :)

The flat are indeed a good option, when post processing I start to see a ring in the middle of the image. Flats would counter that right?

Im preparing my guiding setup, allready ordered an st80, just saving some money to buy a guide cam (like you, the qhy5)

You're right, it's called vignetting and flats will help you alot.

I just put my laptop screen (with notepad opened and maximized to get a white field) in front of the telescope and snap a couple of shots with automatic shutter speed after each imaging session.

Good idea! Does it work as good as the T shirt and torch thing I hear other people do?
