Sun looking good

Recommended Posts

Had my first proper look at the sun today with my recenty purchased PST/ED80 modded scope. The sky is a bit whispy, but not troublesome for observing. I love how the pst just sees through everything. I even used the Hyperion zoom (thanks Dellis) for the first time and it was fantastic. There are a couple of decent prominances to look at if you can get a chance. I couldn't tell you where they are yet, coz I have no idea which way up the sun was in my EP. I have yet to work these things out, but will eventually.

I just need a bit more practice at tuning to get the best out of the scope, and then get my imaging stuff sorted. I can't wait to get some pics.

Glad you manged to get out Allan. Have to admit I still do not really understand the orientation of the sun in my PST almost a year on :embarassed:

Look forward to seeing some images when you get going.

Ah so the big prom I saw today at the 2 o/clock position was really at 8 o/clock. Mind you, I was standing at 90 degrees to the sun so it could have been...Oh never mind, I'll work it out.
