Double Cluster from a couple of weeks ago

After all the Holmes activity recently, I've just processed an image of the Double Cluster in Perseus taken a couple of weeks ago to test my SCT/EQ6 setup.

Stack of 10x 30sec @iso800, Canon 20D dslr and Meade 8in SCT ota at 6.3 with focal reducer.

Processed raws in DSS and Photoshop.

cheers

Mark

That is a lovely image Mark. Well rounded stars, and nice colours too. Not often the double cluster can be imaged looking as good as actual visual observation, but you have just about pulled it off IMO.

A very nice picture.

Ron.

Thanks for the kind comments guys!

I was very pleased with the result apart from the extreme left-hand edge where the stars show some distortion. (I should have centralized the composition more as I've cropped a bit on the right). My aim was to see how close the SCT could get to the quality my WO refractors show on this type of target !

Cheers

Mark
