tony275
Hi all just got my first telescope a sky watcher 130m and it's been cloudy on the 2 nights since I got it Grrr so frustrating after it being a lovely clear sunny day all day till about 4pm then cloud, So I figured if i'm gonna get to use this telescope before i croak it then I might have more luck observing the sun, All any advice on viewing the sun what filter for above scope ?Thanks in advance Tony
Freddie
You will be able to do white light with something like this, but you MUST spend some time reading up on solar observing before and be super safe.http://www.firstlightoptics.com/solar-filters/astrozap-baader-solar-filter.html
Steep
Buy one ready made or make your own as I did with Baader solar film but do as Freddie says and take great care fitting and testing it before you stick your eye up to the eyepiece, you won't get a second chance (well technically you have two eyes so two chances ). The views of the sun are well worth the effort and can help keep your interest alive during the long summer days.
