Spec-Chum
Had half hour skimming around Orion last night before the misty clouds spoiled everything but I had the most comfortable night so far. Why? I used a chair! Why the heck have I not used one before?

Kamet
So what type of chair? I tried a folding stool, but found it easier to stand. My MAK is so short I am not sure if using a chair would work as not sure best position for feet, height of mount etc. I must admit that looking through my straight sight (or what ever you call it !) then using the diagonal and finally view what I have focused on, my back is by then killing me

I got a funny look, a stern warning not to damage it and to bring it back in when I'd done.
Moonshane
I made my own and it works really well. cheap and cheerful but very sturdy and adjusts to heights from about 12" low to 36" highhttp://stargazerslounge.com/topic/59853-observing-chair/
Luke
We got a couple of cheap tall chairs from Ikea last year. It does make viewing a lot more comfy
Tyr
I tried a garden chair for a while but I found I was ending up perching on the arm a lot which wasn't very stable or comfortable. Less comfortable still was standing and bending over. After a while I decided to get one the chairs designed for musicians that FLO sellhttp://www.firstlightoptics.com/misc/mey-observing-chair.htmlThe adjustable seat height is very nice as is the ability to twist a little in the seat. That's probably about as excited as you can get about a chair I guess. If you're handy enough I'm sure making your own is cheaper.I removed the stops half way down the legs (if that makes sense) so the chair can go pretty close to the floor for observing near the zenith. David Smith
We've got those old fashioned, cheap plastic garden chairs still. They work quite well because I can stack up to 4 of them on top of each other to vary the seat height.
scarp15
Yep an appropriate chair, providing you with a warm and relaxed posture, whilst glimpsing through the eyepiece, puts the P in pleasure. I would not linger to long if resorting to a half poo stoop.
RT65CB-SWL
I use one of those tripod stools with the canvas fabric seat. Seems ok if I don't extend the tripod legs on the OTA mount.

jabberwocky
I've been using a kitchen chair at home, its good for all but the very highest objects but I've just bought a drum throne with wide feet and screw height adjustment for taking out and about. Qualia
I've reasoned that using a chair gains you about 1" aperture.
