I have a logitech quickcam pro 5000 and I can view the moon with no problems (with my Skymax 127 maksutov/cassegrain) but when I try to view the likes of jupiter or anything else .........ziltch. cant see a thing. Any ideas where i`m going wrong. Many thanks, Peter

I have a 3000 or the cisco labelled version.

I believe the 5000 is the CMOS rather than CCD version so might be the reason , may not be light sensitive enough, although the moon is very bright so might just be down to the settings selected.

Trouble is getting enough clear sky to faf around with all the options available. roll on the summer nights

Just bought a Xbox cam off ebay for £2.99 including P&P. These seem to have a CCD chip in them. Pete

ive used mine for a quick go on the moon and was well pleased with the results,

I did notice you can select very high resolution in sharpcap but never tried as was pushed for time.
