M1 - The Crab Nebula

I have wanted to have a bash at this object for ages and tonight started off looking clear but after just 8 subs, it was obvious that the cloud in the east was winning the battle so I had to pack it in  !

Sadly of those 8 subs only 5 were usable - the other 3 were quite clearly damaged by passing clouds . However, I was pleasantly surprised by what I extracted after a bit of processing and it has only increased my desire to try the nebula again with many more subs.

Nothing to suggest other than a fine image Steve. Your experience tells you more was needed and I would not presume to question why, but it looks damned good to me as it is. However, when you do get the data you need, I guess the difference will be all to obvious.

Still looks good though.

Considering the number of subs was 'cut short' by the cloud Steve, that's turned out rather well.

I know its one that you've been after, so this result will obviously encourage you to have another 'crack' at it, under more favourable conditions.
