electronic focuser

Recommended Posts

ok it looks like i will be the owner of a celestron 127 mak tomorrow,

been searching the internet thoroughly but i can not for the life of me find an electronic focuser,

except for this one:

http://www.firstlightoptics.com/astronomy-cables-leads-accessories/skywatcher-auto-focuser.html

it doesnt mention that it will work with a 127 mak, but surley a little jiggery pokery and a bit of manufacturing it will fit and work, or am i wrong

anyone used one of these on a mak or simular or is there an alternative that i've missed , preferably around the same price though budget imaging lol..

I modded that one to fit my 127 Mak. It does require a few extra parts, but the most complicated bit was bending a bit of 5mm aluminium to make a mounting bracket and if you assembled it differently you'd probably not even need to do that.

Here are the details of mine:

bodged i like it lol.. kjust had a quick glance seems easy enough , luckily i have a celestron coming which has a goto mount as well so i can use the rail for attaching a frame ..

there are a few of these on ebay i've just come across two of them ,
