Hi all managed to get my first picture of the moon tonight. I was holding my iPhone 5 up to the eyepiece of my CPC 800 and trying to keep my hand as still as possible in the freezing cold. I'm really pleased with how it came out.

That is a nice picture and was exactly what I was looking at tonight, too. I spent a great deal of time looking at the little crater that has the two features inside it, just below the horizontal scar, close to the top of the terminator line.

Well done!

Well, I now know that the 'little crater' is Cassini. The two features inside are Cassini A and Cassini B. The amazing thing is that I could easily make B out and, according to Wikipedia, it is only 9km across!
