more help needed..Celestron Nex Star 6SE

Having sorted out my previous handset software problem , I now have a functioning handset which dispays "Advanced GT" instead of " NexStar SE". I assume ignoring this will cause all sorts of problems when the clouds go away. Anyone know where I can find the soulution?.

That's odd. It sounds like you have the wrong controller. The 6SE controller should display Nexstar SE. If your controller displays Advance GT, then it thinks it is driving a CG5 mount.

Did you buy your mount new or used? Was the controller purchase separately or did you change the firmware?

If it is a new mount, you should return it? If you bought it use then ask the person who sold you the mount.

I had to download a firmware file from the celestron site to fix a "Boot Loader" message. Up to that problem it showed Nexstar 6 but since, the new opening message.

Sounds like you've uploaded the wrong firmware to your handset, although I would have thought Celestrons updater and the handset would tell you this before hand, if not then shame on Celestron!!

Is it in the settings menu? Seen to remember my 4se having an option to choose gt mount or use?

Have sorted it . Knobby had it right , all in the mount setting. Thanks for the help
