M82 lumance 2012/2013

Hi all,

Shot some data on Wednesday 6/02/2013 ( 20 @ 600 seconds ) and added it to 15 @ 600 seconds from last year(26/05/2012).

35 @ 600 seconds

Shot with my 250px and HX916 CCD.

I always try set my imaging train so north is up which helps.

To fine tune position/rotation I use two instances of "Al's reticule" to mark two field stars in the older data ( see image below) and match the new fov with those stars.

Al's reticule always stays on top of any program on the screen so when I take a new test frame I can see where the marked field stars should be on the new test image.

My favourite galaxy this one Mike, the Hydrogen plumes are clearly visible, I'll look forward to seeing you add the colour to this one!
