I am fairly new to Astronomy and started with buying the wrong scopes  However after reading several post I have just purchased a S-W 150p skyliner and was thining about how to start imaging when I came across this post.  Thanks so much for the tutorial, the Stargazers here just keep giving.  Thanks again.

I just stumbled across this post.  I've had my 8" dob now for a few months and just started with the attempting to try to capture images. I picked up a used NexImage 5 at a great price, and ended up with some pretty terrible results.  After reading this, I think I did just about EVERYTHING wrong  

 

I'm looking forward to the  next clear night where I can try this out.
