Two Legged Tripod!

I read about this on Cloudy Nights & gave it a go last night. Basically, while seated & the tripod well lowered, pull the tripod back onto two legs to observe. I found it pretty effective and an alternative to using the monopod. Anyone else tried this?

I use the same technique. Works for me too and find it makes the Tripod [Twipod] a good inbetweener. Enables you to get past the 60 degree mark and nearer to zenith. Quite stable. Never quite happy with the monopod so switched to a tripod then felt this a little limiting too for other reasons. Using it on 2 legs seem to come naturally.

Should have added that I also use the tripod as a monopod too with legs closed. Albeit heavier then my original monopod but I think the extra weight gives it more stability. Quite versatile really.
