Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm obviously new to the site, but I'm a huge follower of Astronomy and Physics.

I'm an avid reader of any and all material related to these fields.

I guess I should thank Carl Sagan for his series "Cosmos" for peaking my interest in these areas. I'm sure many others here could likely make that statement.

I've recently decided to go even farther, and enrolled in some free courses to increase my knowledge. I know the theories behind why most of the phenomena in our universe work, but I want to know HOW they work on a scientific and mathematical level, as well.

As far as stargazing, I'm pretty much stuck using the naked eye and binoculars for the time being. Somewhat frustrating, since most of my target objects of interest are "deep sky", and but for a few, are mostly out of my range.
