plossl eyepeice upgrade

Hi all i have the intention of upgrading my current eyepeice collection, which is a revelation astro GSO super plossl kit, i think i paid around £100.00 form scopes and skies a while back.

although they are a re good value for money i would like a better quality set of eye peices.

Any suggestions would be great

What scope do you use them in?

Hi Rob, could you just be a little more specific on why you want to upgrade?

Do you want wide field views? Meade 5000 UWA or ES82

Do you want better contrast and edge correction? Baader BCO or TeleVue Plossl

Do you want the best of both worlds? TeleVue Nagler or Ethos

Some idea of budget would be most useful too

Hi Rob, it would probably be better to get a few individual ep's according to the ones you used the most from the Revelation set.

I don't know how much you want to spend but BST eyepieces are one of the sites favourite.

If you want to go a bit upmarket then select any from the Ex Sc UWA range. I have had most of the Meade eyepieces at some point in time and all of them are very good, you can find them secondhand now at good prices.

If of couse you never want to replace the eyepieces there is always Televue, you could get some Plossl eyepieces for less than the ExSc but the wide field EPs are a lot of money.

I Agree with Robin. Better to cherry pick the best lenses you can afford in the F/Ls you use most often rather than buy a whole kit half of which you may rarely use.
