anyone know a good weather site for astronomers?

I have my own weather station and have kept records on and off for over 50 years, so I know just how unreliable the national forecasts can be, even for a few hours ahead! But the best idea is to go to somewhere like the BBC, enter your own locality and see what the cloud cover is likely to be. This will give you some indication and then you need to back it up by looking out of the window. As for early morning clear skies before dusk, I make a note of any possibility before going to bed then, if I happen to wake up I glance out to check and, if clear and feeling awake enough I go out - otherwise it back to bed. For a more dynamic view of what is actually happening go to EuroStat24 This will also show you just how changeable the weather actually is and why forecasts go wrong.
