Trying out new lens; star trails / time lapse

Recommended Posts

I treated myself to a new lens - a 14mm Samyang. I was tempted by the 8mm fisheye but reviews seem to suggest the optics are better on the 14mm. I must say I found it enjoyable wide-field imaging - relatively hassle-free!

It was a full moon last night so not much detail in the Milky Way, but happy with the lens and looking forward to posting some more images here!

I took ~600 x 20s (~3.3hrs), ISO-800, f/2.8 (modded 450d)

Longest uninterrupted star trails:

All trails, with cloud gaps:

In the time lapse, you will (hopefully!) see Cassiopeia, Andromeda, followed by Perseus, The Pleiades and finally Jupiter. I've uploaded it in full HD so please click through and select a resolution!
