Stacking different exposure lengths in DSS

Recommended Posts

Quick question. Once taken a number of exposures of different lengths to cover bright and darker parts if a DSO, when it comes to processing in DSS do you need to process exposures of different lengths separately or can you stack them all together?

Process them seperately and merge them together in something like Photoshop. If you just bung them all in to DSS it simply averages all your images together.

NB There is a facility in DSS to stack and merge two (or more) sets of images - but this refers to two sets of the "same exposure length" images taken, for example, on different nights.
