How to use a celestron astromaster 130 - help please!

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am a complete beginner and I really don't know anything about stargazing, I just know I've always wanted to do it.

I have been given a celestron astromaster 130 but I have no idea how to use it and because of my limited knowledge I haven't found the included instructions very useful as they don't contain much information.

Is there anybody that could provide me with an idiot's guide? I would be really grateful for any input and I really won't be offended by basic information as I'm sure that's what I need!

Many thanks

Almost two years ago I was setting up my Astromaster 130EQ.

I took out all the bits and put them on the floor and read through the manual. I don't think it was the physical putting-together that was hard to understand. Rather the explanations on how to set up the aligment and collomination. These both being rather daunting when first read about, but once understood, become all too easy.

If you are really stuck putting it together I would find a local astro-society and take the box when you visit. I am sure there would be some kindly soul who would be more than happy to help explain how it all works.

Also check out some of the videos on the Youtube showing people assembling their new Astromaster 130EQ's. I bought my Astromaster 130EQ in December, haven't opened the box yet but looking forward to putting it together!
