Imagemates - How Do You Find Them?

I find my 4x Imagemate is pretty good, but then I've not used another brand. Some people seem to have difficulties with them. Have you had any difficulties, what were they and what Barlows do you use and why etc, etc!!

The only problem I've had with my AE Imagemate has been that any specks of dust on the glass show up really clearly. I've used it for webcam imaging, particularly when I had an f6 newtonian, and also to crank up the magnification when observing visually with a fast scope, which gave a pretty dim view but was quite fun.

Since getting a C8 I've been imaging planets with a 2.5x revelation barlow which has been excellent, and has also been more useful for visual use as the image is still crisp and bright.

I've never tried a powermate - that's something I'd like to try one day.
