First time Saturn for my boy.

Beautiful clear skies this morning over Somerset so once I'd gotten over the shock of seeing lots of twinkly little white dots in the sky (seems like such a long time since we haven't been clouded over here) I grabbed the Vixen to give my 10 year old his first view of Saturn before breakfast. Needless to say he was blown away and will hopefully always remember his first glimpse of this amazing twinkly white dot. I know I do.

Hopefully the start of a beautiful relationship...

I remember my first view of Saturn. I was about 8 I think and a neighbour across the road had what I remember as something akin to a 3" refractor. Yes I could tell it was Saturn as it wasn't round but I couldn't see any gap between the rings and the planet. Even then I knew the view wasn't very good but I was still fascinated and helped to get me hooked, probably for life.
