Also noticed on the same page that David Bowie has new music out, that's even better news.. :D

More music to gaze by!

As a kid I used to debate with my father about the universe and life. He suggested that we might be the only life in existance and he could well be right but my stance was statisticly I find this hard to believe.

I think my odds might be slowly improving.

And that's just in our own galaxy :)

Even if their was only one Earth like planet per galaxy it would still mean their was a couple of hundred billion Earth like planets in the visible universe (not to mention how ever many their are outside the visible universe).

If we were the only 'advanced' lifeforms around then something VERY wrong is a foot! .. or nothings real, or both, etc etc

The BBC did an interesting documentary a short while back about how important it seems to be to also have a moon like ours in orbit for life like ourselves to evolve (our orbit around the sun is also pretty central compared to the other inner planets, and so we remain within the goldilocks area fairly well) ..

I've seen this all over the news today and while very interesting news it has out shone the actual announcement confirming PH2, the second planet found with the help of the planethunters volunteers at zooniverse.

Some of those candidates are not amongst the 461 spoken of in the bbc article and these have all been identified by volunteers at home like myself.

For a link to the paper and acknowledgements of the long period candidate volunteers check here.
