Hi, I'm extremely new to Astronomy. It's something I've always wanted to try and definitely something I've always been interested in. Regards Paul

Hi Paul and welcome aboard. You've come to the right place ;)

When you decide to improve on your eyes for your astro viewing, ask some questions here and get some sound advice before you part with any cash. It is a fascinating hobby which can be expensive, but at the same time, also doesn't need to be :)

Good luck.....

Hi Paul and welcome to SGL, when you feel that you want to progress a little further than just being on the fringe as it were, then fire away with your questions, but be careful, Astronomy is a bit like a black hole, you are on the outside one minute and the next you are head over heals in the thick of it and your head is at breaking point trying to understand and assimilate all the information you are being given. A steady approach a little at time is the way to start. The late Sir Patrick Moore often recommended a pair of binoculars as a good starting point and together with downloading the free program Stellarium, which will help you find your way about the night sky, can be very rewarding. Even a visit to your local library and perusing what literature they may have on the subject could be of benefit :)

John.

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum. Plenty of advice available to help you get started and plenty of different sections to reflect the vast range of astronomical interest there is out there.

Clear skies and enjoy the forum

James
