Currently wellplaced [check HeavensAbove.com] and bright with very large coma - my brief annotated shot from last night under bright gibbous moon - worth a look ;-)

Wow! Didn't realise there were any comets to look at right now, guess we only hear of the big ones or near earth stuff on the news.. Hope I get to see this at some point.

Here's last night's brief image and over two night the coma orientation has changed dramatically - apparently earth is passing through the comet's orbital plane

Not really - I'll target any comet >mag 15 - this one [in my cam] is bright. From other fora posts it's currently about max when in last few days it was nearest to earth

I viewed this one 2 nights ago from Northern Australia, a pretty sight indeed, and about mag 8.7.

Final follow-up image of Comet C/2012 K5 Linear under moonlight, now way past its best, as mag 14.6 [NASA Horizon] fuzzy star very low on meridian in Eridinus ;-)
