barrhead dams is ok either aurs road [parking on a wee slip way at side of road here "]http://maps.google.c...ed=0CDAQ8gEwAA] or over at http://maps.google.c...ved=0CDAQ8gEwAA or theres gleniffer braes [robertson car park but it can be a bit doggy[sorry dodgie] late on http://maps.google.c...ed=0CKwBEPwSMAc whatever suits or even out to the east if theres anywhere dark and with car parking one of the guys from central scotland observers lives north side [near milngavie so queens view/mugdock could be do able as well ] and a couple are westend and south side so we shall see [if the weather is poor there's no point going out /

barrhead seems good was looking at map of the dams and there seems to be a car park at balgraystone road just by the rail line [dams to darnley walkway i have posted on their facebook page to see if its locked at night or gated it may be a good place to meet up] , theres also queens view over by milnavie and gleniffer braes in paisley

I have spoken to a couple of guys who are interested in astronomy and they may also attend this.

Lets go with Barrhead as the location and arrange to meet around 7ish or is that too early?

Now all we can do is hope for decent weather and a clear sky (fingers crossed)

ok got a reply from dams to darnley there is indeed a car park on the balgraystone road and its open never locked apparently ideal for stargazing according to one of the rangers from the park

psaccuweather has changed from clear with showers to cloudy so it will be a waiting game i' afraid
