First Attempt - a long way to go!

Recommended Posts

After nearly 2 years of visual only I may my first tentative foray into the murky world of imaging on Monday night.

This was taken using a Tal 100RS (F10), EQ5 with motors (not guided) and a Phillips SPC900nc.

I ran the video through Registax and had a bit of fun tweaking the wavlets but the results are not the success that I had hoped and I wondered if anyone had some suggestions.

I think I need to Barlow the webcam for a start as there is almost no fine detail in the images.

For a first attempt thats a cracker. My first effort was a blob. If you try drizzle in registax it may make it a bit bigger.

I run two stacked 2x Barlows on my imaging rig for Jupiter to get it to a nice size on the chip. But I have to use an extension tube as well in that configuration to get focus. Just food for thought.

Good pic there. I'd recommend a barlow, I managed this with my Skywatcher 130m the other night

Capture 12_9_2012 7_44_02 PM.bmp a barlow really makes a big difference.

I will always admire the Creators handywork and even knowing what we see today will one day vanish and be forgotten makes it even more important to me to view and witness his creations. We tend to look to one another to fulfill our emptiness, or look to the skies but he wants us to look for him in all things and to know he is with us very moment.  Like the Universe he created & filled is like how he can fill your emptiness and make you full. God Bless!

Skywatcher 80 ED DS-Pro outfit including matched flattener and motor focus. Now only £350
This kit gives you a great introduction to astronomy and imaging, which is why it's so popular.  You can see details over at FLO but there is:

      Hi guys
Can anyone identify which control box this is? Is it focusmaster? And does it run off robofocus driver in Indi lib as I cannot get a successful connection (in indi within ekos)
I bought a robofocus motor with this control box second hand.
I have faith with seller that hardware works as should.
I've tried other cables and USB ports too. The software (k stars) I use does do port search when connecting equipment..

      Any help appreciated
      Wayne

I'm currently on my annual leave in Italy and the sky has been clear all day with no air turbulence.
The telescope is out - of course - and I managed a session before dinner.
I thought about sharing some photos taken with my phone and a couple of sketches.
