A few shots with a Charity shop lens

I took all these images using a 28mm zoom lens with a DMK21 on a table top tripod

All images were 100 frames at 0.75 secs except the Pleiades which was 200 x 0.75 secs

I hope this shows what can be done with some fairly basic equipment.

We don't all need to spend £3,000 + on a telescope !!! (if only we could afford to !!)

That is very interesting Don. I think that most of us are so used to looking through our scopes that we forget that there are other options available for imaging the night sky. Hoever I would guerss that none of these were actually taken at the 28mm focal length mentioned.

Thanks Richard

Actually they were all take at 28 - I've checked the image size on CCD calc & Stellarium and its spot on - 7 deg by 5 deg

The chip in the DMK21 is only 3.5x2.7 mm hence the apparent magnification

Don

Ah .... thanks for that Don, I wondered how you got the Pleiades that big through a 28mm
