Welcome aboard bud. A lot of the learning curve will be learning to use processing programs, if imaging is where you really want to be. I have found that in my experience I have spent more time in front of the computer processing stuff, then I have outside under the stars. So I would recommend downloading a few processing programs for deep sky and the planets. This way you can get used to workflow and terminology and when you get some pictures you'll ready to start processing straight away. If I would have done this and read up about Iris for example. My introduction to deep sky would have been less traumatic :-)

Best wishes,

PH-R
