A question on cameras

Hi

I have a fixed lens camera that I would like to use for imaging (as its all I've got and it has great manual controls so is good in low light).

I know that I could use it for Afocul imaging but I'm wondering what would happen if I made a T ring and nosepiece and inserted it into the focuser directly?

I think you'd probably just get a picture of the inside of the telescope.
