Rigel pronunctiation?

I am sure Rigel should rhyme with Nigel, but I have always pronounced it the same as seagull, just feels more comfortable to me.

Similarly with Betelgeuse, I am a Beetlejuice man, mainly because I feel daft saying it any other way. I do know it is wrong but it makes me smile.

As with all these things, best not to get hung up on them and just get on with it as you feel most comfortable. I have a dreadful memory and have been observing for years but still don't remember many of the star names. I'm better with Messier locations and numbers, but that's just the way my brain works.
