Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have purchased a new DSLR and rememberd seeing some software mentioned on these forums that allows you to control your imaging from a PC? I cant remember the name of it... can anyone help?

BackyardEOS isn't free, but gives you a free evaluation period with full functionality as far as I recall. Astrophotography Tool is not free for full functionality, but is usable forever with a restricted set of functionality for free. APT is usable in its free guise, but some of the paid-for functionality is very useful and twelve Euros is not exactly expensive.

There is a Canon capture application, but I don't know if that's downloadable or whether it comes on CDs with the camera.

And if you don't have a Canon camera, no idea I'm afraid.

Another thumbs-up for APT from me. Even a numpty like me can use it. Well worth 12.95 Euros if you do the decent thing and buy a licnese.
