M45 - NGC1499 and two great nights

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

last weekend we had great weather. Fog in the valleys but clear sky in the mountains. So I had to go to my favorite mounten, 1600m above sea level.

I captured 9h40min of data with the Canon EF 1.4 50mm @ f/4. ,Moravian G2-8300FW. LRGB, same time for every channel.

I hate you! I need a step ladder to be 3m above sea level  !!! Beautiful shots, very atmospheric but it makes me feel very depressed to know that I'm buried under all that fog!!!

What was the location you were imaging from?

Fantastic set of shots - and skies that we can only dream of here in the UK. You certainly had a very productive time out there though, well done.

That is really an amazing scenery you have. Fog in the valley almost looks dreamlike.

And you got a ton of detail around M45 and the California nebula. I had no idea it was so dusty up there.

Thank you so much for the nice comments!

The place is Hochrindl mountain in Carinthia/Austria. Great location for astronomy, but in winter you could have problems with light pollution. They are preparing the ski runs almost the whole night.

Cheers

Cracking images and the 2nd from last with Orion and your setup plus the rolling hills in the distance..... absolutely lovely, what a lovely observing site.

Fantastic set of shots...! Nice and varied, and I like the progressive struggle to be free of the killer fog. :D
