Phillips spc880/900 V Logitech Quickcam 4000ccd web cam

Hi I was looking at maybe getting into a bit of Imaging prob just planetary to start with and was just wondering what would be best to start with you hear a lot about the Phillips spc880 flashed to 900 and people also talk about ccd web cameras. I have seen a Logitech 4000ccd web cam for sale but it seems a bit cheap to me I only have a EQ5 at the moment that doesn't track as its manual but hope to get a HEQ5 this winter, any advice from anybody who uses these would be a great help

i have an eq5 and a spc900 and i have been manually guiding so dont write it off have a look on the imaging planetary threads i have a few of jupiter and saturn on there also a few peeps getting results with the xbox web cam so more easier to get hold of

Logitech or Philips webcams used to be camera of choice in the early days of webcam imaging. The Logitech sometimes uses the same sensor as the Toucam pro series so it shouldn't be a problem http://homepage.ntlworld.com/molyned/web-cameras.htm .

Personally, I would go for the Philips SPC900/Toucam. You can be sure of a CCD chip and it is very well supported by loads of online advice and free software.
