Barlow for afocal imaging

Recommended Posts

I've never used APO optics, but I haven't heard anything negative about it. I do know achromats are fairly decent if you know how to process the false color fringes out. But with that said, any telescope will work great so long as you a nice solid tracking mount. If you can't track the object you want to shoot, you'll have problems regardless of what scope you use.

Thanks Atlas. Tracking Alt/Az-Celestron 127SLT, it's fine for my current ambitions. Query was specifically about Barlows. At the moment ones I am interested in are all out of stock, which does not matter too much at present as UK has had foul weather for months and more to come. Probably go for Baader 2.25/1.3X achromat. Any opinions?
