Lunator - Discovery!!

Recommended Posts

This deserves a special thread on its own.

Ian has been credited with the discovery of a pair of visual double stars, and these discoveries have been confirmed by the WDS (see email below).

A well deserved congratulations to Ian - it goes to show that perseverance in this most fascinating of hobbies can put us amateurs in the spot light!!

Ian

I'll get a box of 50 CDs to you in the mail next week.

Incidentally, I was observing last night and confirmed your location

for SHR 1 (21288+7034), so both pairs you identified that I did the

other night (21275+7024 & 21309+7020) are new. I don't show any CSR

pairs in the WDS so these will be CSR 1 & 2 when we get around to

publishing our 2007 measurements paper (mid 2008).
