Will this work in Win8? My 64bit version (not the beta one) is jerky and control is difficult?

I don't know how often you update the GRS correction factor, but the current value should read:

rot_rotation_offset = 95 #just some value good for GRS #old:151

The last value of '250' has been in for over a year.

Is this with or without the light travel time correction? Did you check how it looks like in the test version? As far as I can remember, Alex did add some kind of empirical formula extrapolating the position of the GRS.

OK. The new Dev version does put the GRS in a different position for a given value.

The default value on the Dev version is fairly close, but changing it to '297' puts it spot on with it's current JSII (Jovian System Longitude) of 184 degrees.

The current stable version is way way off, and a value of '95' puts it in the correct position.

I don't know about light time correction. These values work for both versions of stellarium installed without any changes in settings or config.

Will there be any more object image data with this new release? Or a plug-in to grab the data from an on-line database?

Hmm... can you show photo with GRS and time label?

P.S. Here cloudy nights more 2 month's and I can't see Jupiter :(

You can use Stellarium Mobile for Android (based on Stellarium 0.10.2 I think)

Thanks, was aware of this but know it is from a different producer using the Stellarium name,.

Regards the beta version and Win 8, put it on my laptop that has Win 8 on it...works as perfectly as Win 8 allows it too. Win 8 has some serious bugs in it, but Stellarium works perfectly
