I actually made it out to a "dark site"

Unfortunately it was a bit of a waste of time.

The Dew came down really heavy and it was blowing a gale.

the LX90 is not the best scope in the world to image with and it's like a sale

the slightest breeze and its all over the place.

so I ended up just using the DSLR.post-12107-0-66876900-1374357591_thumb.j

I know exactly what you mean! I also have an LX90 and I went out to a dark site on Thursday and the visuals were beautiful, as soon as I put my video cam in it started getting windy. Trying to get focus was like playing Jenga in an earthquake.

It was also my first outing with my dew controller and I didn't even need it!

You should check out telescope house, they have a megadeal on a temperature sensing controller + band. It's the cheapest temp sensing controller I've ever seen and really simple to use, uk based company unlike Kendrick or the guy who makes Dewbuster.

I've spent a good few hours looking into Eq mounts and I'm very close to getting a CGEM DX, but waiting to see how the EQ8 does first.
