Jupiter GRS & Europa Oct 27th

[Space Cowboy]

Poor seeing again, much the same as last week. This will probably be my last pre-dawn excursion as Jupiter is getting too low for the best conditions. Started imaging at 5.47am (50 degrees) and finished at 6.15am (45 degrees).

Shot at f26. First 3 images are using winjupos de-rotation :

4 stacked images de-rotated (5.47am to 6.00).

4 stacked images between 6am and 6.12.

5.47am to 6.12 de-rotated (25 mins total).

Next 2 images from single stacks showing Europa :

Europa emerges at 6.06am.

Jupiter & Europa 6.12am :

All images processed using 1.5x drizzle then down sized apart from last one which was non drizzle upscale.

Yeah seeing looks wobbly. We need better conditions, hats off to you for giving it a go, i think low pressure is dominating at the moment Stuart. So as good as can be expected. Your colour looks nice

Thanks Neil. Its fuzzy or nothing at the moment just gotta make the best of it and keep in good practise for when that golden night arrives lol

Heh, untill I scrolled down to the last two pics and saw the moon peek out... It looked like an anomaly similar to the one we saw on Mars earlier this year. (That's what happens when your still trying to wake up.)

Thanks again guys! Interesting how GRS junior is moving away followed by the dark spot. So much going on with Jupiter even in poor seeing you can seeing something different.

Put together a little animation as this was only over 25 mins. I think the animation shows more detail than the individual images. Zip file attached just needs playing in media player on repeat.

Some reasonably good shots Stuart considering the lousy seeing well done! keeping the image on the chip was my problem due to gusty conditions that same morning.
