Trying to ID Satellite

This morning (10/21) at about 5:35 US Mt. time, I went out to watch the Orionids and saw a satellite that I've been unable to identify. I'm in western Colorado (30-40N 107-37W) and at 5:35 am, it was directly overhead. It traveled almost due N to S and went through the left shoulder of Sagitarius. Anyone have any idea which one this was?

I have no idea but identifing satellites sound interesting, what sort of equipment do you use..... sorry im no help

"Heavens above" should tell you which is which... Providing it WAS a satellite of course... These tons of junk up there!

Install stellarium this should list all the satellites in orbit. Unless what you saw was a piece of space debris of course.

There some iPhone Apps that claim to show the location of satellites. I use Starwalk which shows some Satellites on it including the ISS.

Look for some software called SatScape.

I use Heavens Above (Google it), but that only tracks operational satellites. Stellarium is also pretty good, but unsure as to whether that shows non-operational satellites.

Yeah as above, Stellarium has Satellites on it, a friend i go out with always noted down the time we saw them, and would check when he got home as to what we saw.
