Don't know if any of you know, but the New Horizons probe is due to arrive at Pluto in 2015, we'll know a lot more about it then .

Waste of money really. It's a planet.

There is a difference between "seeing" and "observing". I have never "observed" Neptune or Uranus, but i am sure i have had them in my FOV at some stage, so technically i have "seen" them both.

I downloaded a load of pictures of of the hubble site and printed large posters for my sons wall. The Deep Field shot, horse head, whirlpool, pillars of creation etc and just bought him the wee 76 dob to sit on his desk at the the window. Looking forward to feb and march when there is good stuff for him to see before he goes to his bed. It is annoying when he can pick stuff out with his naked eye thought he was winding me up but got a laser pen and he points with that and sure enough he has unbelievable night vision. It was great when out with his gran one night and was drawing the constellations with the laser. When granny said its great how the twinkle and are so bright - he shot her down stars don't twinkle!.....

Of course It's a planet! It's just that It's a Dwarf Planet.
