200p flextube dob question

Hi,

I am considering a dob and quite like the look of the 200p flextube but don't want the GOTO bit. The Skywatcher website appears to show a non-GOTO 200p flextube but I can't find anyone who stocks it. Does anyone know of a supplier please?

I'd rather not go to the 250 as I am tight for space and budget.

No UK supplier sells the Non-200P goto. I tried and resolved to buying the solid tube version.

If you want a Skyliner 200p you can either get Flextube Goto or solid tube manual.

Why not knock a Dob mount up for your 8" newt Lee?

That would be a lot cheaper than buying another scope, and save some space.

There is a 200p flextube OTA on astroboot at the mo, just make a dob mount for it .

I bought one and converted my 200p into a flextube the other week. All the holes are in the same place so it is a simple case of stripping the 200p down and rebuilding it.

Thanks for the replies. I wondered why I couldn't find a 200p flextube.

Steve: I had thought about that but I would like something with a decent aperture that I could take away. As it happens, it's your dob that has got me thinking The 250 is probably the one to go for for weight and transportability verses aperture but I'm going to have to do some saving!
