Any Active Societys in the Goring/Reading area?

Hi there,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I have been looking for an active society in my area for a month now and despite emailing the sites I've found on internet (and their committee members) I have found nothing and got no responses.

I am new to the stargazing scene and looking for people who can show me the ropes and attend some star parties/observing sessions.

can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Seems the people I've tried are either not active or don't use their emails :-S

Im in Caversham - so not far from you. There's a small group locally who meet informally to observe (Farside is the ring leader ) but I've not yet managed to co-incide diaries / clouds etc to meet up with them.

So far I've only observed in my back garden on my tod - so would be good to meet up with anyone local.

Hey Capricorn - yes I have tried the first link to RAG - that is one of the offending parties in the wont answer email catagory (if there are any members of RAG here please send me a message!)

I have also used the site you post in your second link and the only other group in my area is also incommunicado :-S
