Biggest and brightest

We were being threatened with 30cm of snow last night, although we only got about 10. At any rate, the sky was opaque, and my wife and I went off to watch the Bishop of Niagara play Scrooge in a dramatic reading of "A Christmas Carol." The Archdeacon said it was typecasting.

So, how much brighter was it than usual? I usually consult the moon atlas by white light when I am doing lunar observing, as my night vision gets blown away by our sister planet, anyway.
