Letchworth & District Astronomical Society are holding the first of their autumn star parties today, details as follows:

Public astronomy session, Leys Square, Letchworth town centre 11am - 4pm

Meet LDAS members, display stand including scopes, society info, possible daytime observing

Public star party, Standalone Farm, Wilbury Road, Letchworth 7.30pm onwards

Talks and displays, observing with society telescope (14" Meade LX200) and members' scopes

Are you sure?

Just been down Leys Ave and through Leys Square, 3 police cars parked alongside WH Smiths, a Paintball stand up by Poundland but not a scope in sight.

Sorry you missed us, we were the other side of the police vehicles, tucked in the corner by the phone box. We might have been setting when you looked so the stand may not have been set up when you looked.

The star party is also going ahead as planned so hopefully see you at 7.30pm at Standalone Farm.
