VNC Viewer for android

Just a little heads-up for anyone that uses tightVNC to remotely control their imaging laptop over a local network.

Ive now tested and used an android version of the viewer and it works really well... PHD on your phone! :D I have full control over the imaging and guiding software, the only thing missing is file transfer - not that id want to transfer subs to my phone anyway!

I can see this being incredibly useful at star parties, as it will allow you to go walkabout whilst keeping an eye on your own gear. If you go out of range of the wifi, no problem as you can also connect via the net. But if connecting via the net you will probably need to set it to very low bandwidth usage to prevent a thrashing of your data allowance. The best part is... its FREE!

Cor blimey.... modern technology ey?

Edit: Just need to add that your phone will need red acetate as they can be incredibly bright and ruin your night vision. Downside is you may lose touchscreen functionality because of the acetate, its something Ive yet to investigate.
