  • 2 weeks later...

I'll be bringing my camera gear for shots of my fellow stargazers and the astrotrac for shots of the night skies (hopefully). Also a new airbed which should be much comfortable than my leaky old one that always went down after a couple of sleepless hours.

Not long to go now.

All packed and ready to go, scopes and camping gear.

Yes it is a bit early, but I do have some logic.

I live in Plymouth but actually work in Somerset (Highbridge, near Burnham on Sea).

I'm back at work today on shift, so had to pack the van up yesterday in prep.

I finish shift on thursday morning, a couple hours kip and then I'll head down to the campsite to setup in the afternoon.

Jon H,

May I ask a favour please.

I see from your signature that you have a set of WO binoviewers. If you have room, would it be possible to bring them along.

I am thinking of getting a set for the 8SE and would like to actually get a view through them.

Much appreciated if you could, if you have room, no worries otherwise,

Cheers,

Grahame.

Thats quite a commute you have Graham !

We were in Highbridge yesterday at the caravan centre - they have a sale on !

Looking forward to meeting everyone at Halse Farm on Friday

Apologies in advance for the state my caravan will be in - one of my daytime jobs on site next weekend is to give it a clean !

Hi John,

It's a small world, you probably would have passed my work. place.

I don't commute, it'd be too much every day.

I work a 4 on 6 off shift 12 hour pattern (give or take holiday cover).

So I have a caravan up here in Highbridge to eat / kip in whilst I'm here.

It wont be coming to Halse farm though. It's a bit of a beast, a Lexon Lunar 640 twin axle.

Apart from the fact I have never towed a caravan in my life, I don't think it'd fit down the lanes to get to Halse farm, judging by the direction information given on the website.

Really hoping the long range weather forcast is as bad as it usually is. Still time to improve.

Cheers,

Grahame.

I can remember the second SGL star party in the Snowdonia National Park...

I towed my caravan down some very scary mountain roads with white knuckles and shaking like a leaf... Reminded me of the road in the Italian Job!
