Jupiter and the GRS 17/09/12

It may have been clear but it wasn't pretty out there this am

this is my hard earned result in wishy washy skies.

I've tried squeezing and pushing the rest of the data sets but I reckon this is the only image worth showing

Can't beat capturing the GRS even in less than perfect conditions and that is a nice image Karlo.

Some nice detail given the conditions. It's a pain when you get up early and find the conditions are not at their best!!

well, thank you all for the comments. I kind knew it wasn't going to be great since it had been raining earlier on & the skies don't ever seem to be to too kind following on from rain- but I wanted the practice AND I've had to take to take the scope etc off the pier in order to make an earlier start to imaging and not have to wait for the planet to clear the birch tree ( that I planted DOH !)

I've moved my kit on mass further down the garden -the benefits are an earlier start with views to the east but as Joop rises it will clear the tree completely and I'll be able to shoot continuously thru culmination if needs be. Shame I couldn't/ didn't put the pier there in the first place but then the tree wasn't as tall etc .....
