Hi All

Clear at last down here,

After capturing some flats i decided to grab a quick DSO.

Image info

8" SCT and Orion Starshoot @ f5

50 x20 sec subs unguided (only 30 used)

I know its only a short exposure (and not quite up to some Globs here)

but i thought i would still post as its not imaged often.

Regards

Ed Sampson

Hi Ed

You do yourself an injustice!!

That's actually quite a nice result, and certainly worth 'posting'.

There was actually a bit more to be 'teased out' of your image, so I took the liberty of having a 'tweak', albeit re-saving a well compressed jpeg as another well compressed jpeg, doesn't help.

Attached is your original image and the 'tweaked' below it.

Dave

M12 does not seem to be imaged as often as it should IMHO. I think you may have sent a message here Ed, And maybe we will see it targeted more. You made a valiant attempt here, and when I compare it with the image in my Messier Album which was imaged with a 4" refractor,

the book shot, shows a denser core, and more stars in the outer regions. Of course your exposure was a lot shorter.

Dave's tweak has brightened the image quite a bit.

I regard globulars among my favourite objects, and I love seeing them posted on SGL.

Ron. ;)
