Hey all thought i'd post a result i got from lastnight of Jupiter , conditions were not too great and i only had a 30 minute window to shoot before the clouds rolled in but i'm happy i've bagged my first Jup of the season . Hopefully as the planet gets closer and if the weather improves so should the detail in my images as this attempt wasn't the best . equipment used was a Skywatcher Skymax 127 scope and a Philips SPC900NC webcam all mounted on a CG-4 , final image is a stack of 2900 frames which were captured using sharpcap .

Regards Alan

I reckon that's a good start. There's clearly lots of colour and detail to be had there. I find it always takes a little while to get my eye back in if I've not been imaging a target for a while. Jupiter is currently obscured by the house or trees for me unless I "go portable", so I'm looking forward to it rising a bit earlier as we get into Autumn.
