Free Astronomy Course

Hey guys

I don't know if this has been posted before or not. www.coursera.org is offering Courses from leading university from all over the world.

They are offering a few Astornmy courses.

I have just signed up for Into to Astronomy from Duke University.

I like the look of the astrobiology course especially seeing as we already have the introduction to... book from one of my wifes previous ventures.

And it's only 5 weeks I think I'm going to look into this.

I just noticed the course I was looking it's next session is in January, I'd probably sign up and forget about it by then.

I was just checking out the Introduction to Astronomy course and i saw this:

I dont know about the rest of you but this to me does not seem like an introduction to astronomy.

It all looks Greek to me.

Basicly yes . If the course states there is some pre reading . Do that .

There are all ment to be done at home or any where you can get a internet connection

I'm signed up. I think I mentioned this before but I can't remember if the reply was new software. But I wonder if we could have an education section only thing would have to make sure answers weren't posted cos of plagiusm

I really wish I cared about Science and Math more at school, would love to do the course but the 'Recommended Background' means this is a no goer for me. Parents do know best "you'll regret it later in life". I will teach myself Astro Physics though, even if I have to start from Primary School level again it will be done.

I think i am going to sign up for this as well. Should be able to do it alongside my engineering degree Its only 9 weeks and is actually something im interested in.
